Saila is an iconic Italian confectionery brand established in 1937 in Silvi Marina, Abruzzo. The name is an acronym for 'Società Anonima Industriale Liquirizia Abruzzese'. It is widely recognized for its high-quality liquorice and peppermint candies, often using 100% Italian-grown ingredients as indicated by the 'Fatto in Italia' (Made in Italy) seal on the packaging.

Over the decades, the brand's ownership has transitioned through several multinational corporations. Originally a family-established venture, it was acquired by Leaf and later became part of the Cloetta group. Currently, Saila is owned by Sperlari, which is part of the German Katjes International group. Most Saila products continue to be manufactured at the historical production site in Silvi Marina, maintaining a strong link to its regional heritage.
