The brand's history began in 1933 when André Besnier founded a small dairy in Laval, France. The Président brand itself was officially launched in 1968 by his son, Michel Besnier, initially making a name for itself with pasteurized Camembert. Today, the brand is owned by the Lactalis Group (formerly Besnier S.A.), which has grown into the world's largest dairy products corporation. In Poland, the brand's operations and distribution are managed by Lactalis Polska Sp. z o.o., which operates several production plants across the country to serve the Central and Eastern European markets.
