Wella is a legendary name in hair care, founded in Germany in 1880 by Franz Ströher. Initially focused on wig bases, it evolved into a global leader in hair coloring and styling products. The Color Fresh Mask is a contemporary product designed for temporary color refreshment and hair care, reflecting the brand's professional-grade hair technology. While the brand has German roots, its manufacturing is now distributed across various global facilities to serve international markets.
Over the decades, Wella has undergone several ownership changes. It was acquired by Procter & Gamble in 2003 and later sold to Coty Inc. in 2016. In 2020, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) acquired a majority stake in several of Coty's professional beauty brands, including Wella, resulting in the formation of the standalone Wella Company. As of 2024 and beyond, Wella Company operates as an independent entity headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, under the majority ownership of KKR.
