Morrisons grocer/retail products

Morrisons, known formally as Wm Morrison Supermarkets Limited, is one of the United Kingdom's largest supermarket chains. Founded by William Morrison in 1899 as an egg and butter stall in Bradford, England, the brand has grown into a vertically integrated retail giant. Unlike many of its competitors, Morrisons is unique because it owns many of its own food production sites and farms, allowing for a shorter and more transparent supply chain. This 'Market Street' concept remains a cornerstone of their brand identity.

In recent years, the company underwent a significant ownership change. In 2021, Morrisons was acquired by the American private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R). Following this acquisition, the company was taken private, ending its long history as a publicly traded entity on the London Stock Exchange. Despite the change in ownership to a US-based firm, the company's operational headquarters remain in Bradford, and its manufacturing focus continues to be heavily concentrated within the UK through its subsidiary, Myton Food Group.
