RONA is a major Canadian retailer specializing in home improvement, construction materials, and gardening products. Founded in Quebec in 1939, it grew from a collection of independent hardware stores into a national powerhouse, becoming a symbol of Canadian retail in the home sector. Throughout its history, Rona has expanded through aggressive acquisitions of other hardware chains across various provinces.

In 2016, the brand was acquired by the American giant Lowe's. However, in early 2023, Lowe's sold its Canadian retail business—including RONA—to Sycamore Partners, a private equity firm. This transition returned the company to private ownership with a renewed focus on its Canadian roots and a significant restructuring of its store network to optimize service across its RONA+, RONA, and Réno-Dépôt banners.

While the company itself is a retailer rather than a single-product manufacturer, the goods sold within RONA stores originate from a massive global supply chain. This includes a wide array of products manufactured in Canada, the United States, and Asia, reflecting the diverse sourcing requirements of the modern construction and home renovation industry.
