Skovlyst Bryghus originated in 2005 at a historic restaurant and brewery in the Hareskov forest near Copenhagen, Denmark. The brand was founded to create high-quality beers inspired by the surrounding nature and the heritage of artisanal brewing.

While the brand maintains its creative roots in Denmark, its commercial production has evolved. To meet broader demand and ensure consistent quality, Skovlyst transitioned its larger-scale production to professional breweries in other European countries, notably Poland and Germany, through contract brewing agreements. The brand is currently managed by Skovlyst Production A/S, which oversees the distribution and development of the portfolio under the leadership of the original founders and professional investors.
