Marabou Smil Caramel chocolate

Marabou is a quintessential Scandinavian chocolate brand, founded in 1916 by Norwegian chocolatier Johan Throne Holst, who also established the Freia brand. The brand quickly became a household name in Sweden, known for its distinctive yellow packaging and high-quality milk chocolate. The 'Smil' product line consists of chocolate pralines filled with soft caramel, a favorite among Nordic consumers for generations.

While Marabou began as an independent Swedish company, it was acquired by the multinational Kraft Foods (now Mondelez International) in 1993. Most Marabou products continue to be manufactured at the company's long-standing factory in Upplands Väsby, Sweden, maintaining their local heritage. Today, the brand is owned by Mondelez International, one of the world's largest snacks companies based in the United States, which manages the brand under its European chocolate portfolio alongside other famous names like Milka and Cadbury.
