Napapijri is a high-end Italian brand that was established in 1987 in Quart, Aosta Valley. Despite its Finnish-sounding name and the Norwegian flag logo—which are intended to evoke an adventurous, polar expedition spirit—the brand is fundamentally Italian in its design philosophy and heritage. It originally gained fame for producing durable alpine travel bags and later expanded into outdoor technical apparel and casual wear.

While the brand's roots are firmly in Italy, its production is international. Like many global fashion brands, Napapijri utilizes a supply chain that spans across various regions, with manufacturing occurring in multiple countries to support its global distribution. Since 2004, the brand has been part of the VF Corporation portfolio, moving from a family-owned Italian business to becoming a pillar of a major American multinational apparel group alongside brands like The North Face and Vans.
