Apple EarPods with 3.5 mm Headphone Plug

The Apple EarPods were introduced in September 2012 as a major redesign of Apple's standard earphones. These headphones were a staple accessory bundled with every iPhone from the iPhone 5 until the release of the iPhone 12 in 2020.

While designed and engineered by Apple in California, the physical manufacturing of EarPods occurs through various global supply chain partners. Production has historically been centered in China, but in recent years, Apple has significantly diversified its assembly operations, with a substantial portion of EarPods now manufactured in Vietnam and other regions. Ownership remains entirely with Apple Inc., which continues to sell the 3.5 mm, Lightning, and USB-C wired variants as standalone accessories.
