The milk is sourced exclusively from selected farms in the Province of Salerno, emphasizing a local supply chain. The 'Allegro' line is specifically processed through high-temperature pasteurization to be highly digestible for consumers with lactose intolerance, reducing lactose content to less than 0.1%.

The brand has a long-standing history in Southern Italy, dating back to 1929 when it was established as a local municipal dairy. Over the decades, it evolved from a public entity into a private corporation. In 2020, the parent group, Centrale del Latte d'Italia, was acquired by Newlat Food S.p.A., a major Italian food group.
