Nescafé Blend 43 instant coffee

Nescafé Blend 43 is a signature instant coffee specifically developed for the Australian and New Zealand markets. While the Nescafé brand itself was launched by Nestlé in Switzerland on April 1, 1938, the 'Blend 43' variant was first introduced in Australia and New Zealand in 1947. The name refers to the fact that, at the time of its inception, one cup of the soluble coffee was formulated using exactly 43 coffee beans.

Today, the product is primarily manufactured in Australia at Nestlé’s specialized coffee factory located in Gympie, Queensland. This facility is notable for its sustainable initiatives, including the use of 100% renewable electricity and the repurposing of used coffee grounds as biofuel to help power the production process. Although the coffee beans themselves are imported from various coffee-growing regions worldwide, the roasting, blending, and processing are performed locally in Australia.

Ownership of the brand remains with Nestlé S.A., a Swiss multinational food and beverage conglomerate headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland. Since its creation, Nescafé has grown into one of the world's most recognized coffee brands, maintained under the global stewardship of Nestlé, which continues to manage its international distribution and regional variants like Blend 43.
