Solano is a storied Spanish confectionery brand with roots dating back to 1830 in Logroño, La Rioja. Originally founded by Celestino Solano as a local pastry shop, it became famous for its unique coffee and milk candies, which were initially marketed for their medicinal properties. Over nearly two centuries, the brand evolved from a small family-run business into a leading name in the Spanish candy market, known particularly for its creamy, sugar-free hard candies like the Café Espresso variety.

Today, Solano is manufactured in Spain, primarily at facilities in Tarazona, Zaragoza. The brand's ownership has transitioned through several major corporate hands; after being acquired by the Spanish group Agrolimen (under its Joyco division), it was eventually sold to the Wrigley Company in 2004. As Wrigley became a subsidiary of the global giant Mars, Incorporated, Solano now sits within the Mars Wrigley portfolio. This ensures that while it maintains its traditional Spanish heritage and local production, it benefits from the global distribution and marketing scale of one of the world's largest food corporations.
