Ballantine's is a world-renowned brand of blended Scotch whisky, with its roots tracing back to 1827 when George Ballantine established a small grocery in Edinburgh. The 'Finest' expression is its flagship product, known for a complex yet balanced profile. As a protected 'Scotch Whisky' designation, all production, blending, and bottling occur strictly within Scotland to meet legal geographical indicators.

Over the centuries, the brand evolved from a family-run business into a global powerhouse. In 1988, it was acquired by Allied Lyons, which later became Allied Domecq. In 2005, the brand's ownership shifted significantly when the French spirits giant Pernod Ricard acquired Allied Domecq. Today, Ballantine's remains a core part of Pernod Ricard's premium Scotch portfolio, managed through its specialist Scotch whisky subsidiary, Chivas Brothers.
