Joico Hair Care

Joico is a world-renowned professional salon hair care brand founded in Southern California in 1975 by hair stylist Steve Stefano. From its inception, Joico established a reputation for developing innovative hair reconstruction technologies, most notably pioneering the use of hydrolyzed human hair keratin proteins to rebuild damaged hair, culminating in its iconic K-PAK series and the slogan 'The Joi of Healthy Hair.'

In December 2001, Japanese multinational personal care giant Shiseido Company, Limited acquired Joico through its American professional division, Zotos International. In late 2017, Henkel AG & Co. KGaA, the German chemical and consumer goods conglomerate, acquired Zotos International Inc. (including the Joico brand) from Shiseido to bolster its Henkel Consumer Brands professional salon portfolio in North America.

Today, Joico operates as part of Henkel's Professional Beauty division. Its hair care, treatment, and coloring products are primarily manufactured in North America—specifically at manufacturing facilities such as Geneva, New York—with additional supply and packaging sourced globally.
