TUMS Antacid Chewable Tablets

TUMS is an antacid tablet primarily composed of calcium carbonate, widely used to relieve heartburn, sour stomach, and acid indigestion.

The brand was originally developed in 1928 by pharmacist James Howe in St. Louis, Missouri, to treat his wife's indigestion, and was first manufactured and marketed by the Lewis-Howe Company. Over several decades and through corporate consolidations, the brand became part of Norcliff Thayer, Revlon, Beecham, SmithKline Beecham, and subsequently GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).

In 2022, GSK spun off its consumer healthcare division into an independent global consumer healthcare company called Haleon plc, headquartered in Weybridge, United Kingdom. Haleon is the ultimate owner of the TUMS brand today, with the antacid tablets primarily manufactured in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
