Osprey Backpacks and Bags

Osprey is an internationally recognized brand known for designing technical outdoor packs, travel luggage, and daily backpacks. Founded in 1974 in Santa Cruz, California, by Mike Pfotenhauer, the company began as a bespoke pack-making business creating durable, custom-fitted backpacks for hikers and mountaineers. Over the decades, Osprey grew into a global outdoor industry leader renowned for ergonomic suspension systems, durable construction, and its comprehensive 'All Mighty Guarantee' repair policy.

To maintain high standards while scaling global distribution, Osprey relocated its primary production and quality control design operations to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in the early 2000s, where founder Mike Pfotenhauer lived for several years to directly oversee manufacturing operations. Today, Osprey products sold in the United Kingdom and worldwide are primarily manufactured through high-precision partner facilities in Vietnam.

In December 2021, Osprey was acquired by Helen of Troy Limited, a prominent American consumer products corporation headquartered in El Paso, Texas. In the United Kingdom, Osprey operates via Osprey Europe Ltd, located in Poole, Dorset. Note that Osprey outdoor gear is entirely distinct from Osprey London, a British luxury leather goods and fashion brand founded by Graeme Ellisdon, which operates independently.
