KEEN Seek trail shoes

KEEN Seek trail shoes are outdoor performance footwear designed for trail walking, light hiking, and active outdoor pursuits. The KEEN brand was founded in 2003 in Alameda, California, by Martin Keen and Rory Fuerst, gaining immediate fame for its Newport sandal with its signature patented toe-protection bumper. Shortly thereafter, the company moved its headquarters to Portland, Oregon, where it remains based today.

KEEN remains an independent, family-owned private footwear manufacturer operated under Fuerst Group, Inc. Unlike many competing outdoor brands that have been absorbed by large multinational conglomerates, KEEN operates independently and places a major emphasis on environmental sustainability and conscious manufacturing practices through its "Consciously Created" initiative.

Production of KEEN footwear takes place across multiple countries. While KEEN operates proprietary assembly facilities in Portland (USA) and Europe, the majority of broad-line footwear manufacturing is carried out through partner facilities in countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and previously China. For the European market, distribution is handled through KEEN's European branch based in the Netherlands.
