Brand History and Heritage

Bärenmarke is one of Germany's most recognized and traditional dairy brands, famous for its iconic teddy bear mascot carrying a milk can. Originally registered in the late 19th century in Switzerland (associated with Bern and the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company, which merged with Nestlé in 1905), the brand gained immense popularity in Germany through condensed milk produced in Bad Aibling and Biessenhofen, Bavaria.

Ownership and Structure

For nearly a century, Bärenmarke remained part of the Nestlé group. In 2003, Nestlé sold the Bärenmarke brand and production site to the German dairy cooperative Hochwald Foods eG (Hochwald Milch eG). Today, Hochwald owns and manages Bärenmarke as one of its flagship consumer brands.

Manufacturing and Sourcing

Bärenmarke long-life milk (UHT) is sourced and processed directly in Germany at Hochwald's modern dairy processing facilities, utilizing raw milk from affiliated regional dairy farmers.
