Peet's French Roast Whole Bean Coffee

Peet's Coffee was founded by Alfred Peet in 1966 in Berkeley, California. The brand is often credited with sparking the craft coffee movement in the United States by introducing darker roasts and higher-quality beans. The French Roast, as seen in the image, is one of their signature dark roast profiles.

While the beans are sourced from various coffee-growing regions globally (such as Latin America and the Indo-Pacific), the final roasting and packaging for the U.S. market primarily take place at Peet's LEED-certified roasting facility in Alameda, California. This ensures the freshness and specific flavor profile associated with the brand's heritage.

Since 2012, Peet's Coffee has been owned by JAB Holding Company, a private German conglomerate. In 2020, Peet's was merged with JDE (Jacobs Douwe Egberts) to form JDE Peet's, which is listed on the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange. Despite its international ownership, the brand maintains its headquarters and primary operations in the United States.
