Richmond, a brand traditionally known for its sausages since 1889, has expanded into the plant-based market with its Meat-Free range. These bacon rashers are designed to mimic the taste and texture of traditional back bacon using soy and wheat proteins. While the brand originated in the UK, it has undergone significant ownership changes over the years. Originally part of the Kerry Group's portfolio, the Richmond brand and other meats businesses were acquired by Pilgrim's Pride Corporation. This move integrated the brand into one of the world's largest food companies, headquartered in the United States, which is itself majority-owned by the Brazilian multinational JBS S.A. The production remains primarily focused in the United Kingdom to serve the domestic market.
