Tefal is a globally recognized brand synonymous with non-stick cookware. The brand originated in France in the 1950s after Marc Grégoire followed his wife's suggestion to use Teflon, which he had been using for fishing gear, on her cooking pans. This innovation led to the founding of Tefal in 1956, a name derived from the combination of 'Teflon' and 'Aluminium'.

Today, Tefal maintains a strong manufacturing presence in its home country, France, particularly for its premium ranges like the 'Quick Start' series shown in the image, which proudly displays a 'Made in France' label. However, to meet global demand, some product lines are also manufactured in other regions, including China and Vietnam.

Since 1968, Tefal has been a flagship brand of Groupe SEB, a major French consortium specializing in small domestic appliances and cookware. Groupe SEB remains the ultimate owner and is headquartered in Écully, France, managing a vast portfolio of household brands and distributing them through various local subsidiaries worldwide.
