Salomon Athletic Footwear

Salomon is a globally recognized brand specializing in outdoor sports equipment and footwear. Founded in 1947 by François Salomon and his family in Annecy, France, the company initially produced ski edges before expanding into outdoor gear.

Today, Salomon's high-performance footwear is manufactured in several countries, primarily in Asia, including Vietnam, Cambodia, and India, to meet global demand.

Starting as a family-run workshop, Salomon was acquired by Adidas in 1997 and later sold to the Finnish group Amer Sports in 2005. Since 2019, Amer Sports (and thus Salomon) has been under the ultimate ownership of a consortium led by ANTA Sports, a major Chinese sportswear company. This strategic ownership helps the brand maintain its premium positioning while expanding its reach across global markets.
