Founded in 1986 in the mountain village of Åre, Sweden, Peak Performance was established by a group of passionate skiers who sought to combine high-performance technical functionality with clean, Scandinavian design. The brand quickly became a leader in premium skiwear, expanding into a comprehensive outdoor and lifestyle brand recognized for its quality and durability.

Over the decades, the brand underwent several ownership changes, eventually becoming part of the portfolio of the Danish fashion group IC Group A/S. In 2018, the brand was acquired by the Finnish sporting goods giant Amer Sports. Today, Peak Performance operates as a core brand within Amer Sports' technical apparel division, benefitting from a global distribution network and advanced carbon-neutral manufacturing initiatives.

While the design and development processes remain rooted in Sweden, manufacturing is carried out across multiple countries including China, Vietnam, and various European locations to ensure specialized craftsmanship for different fabric technologies.
