itslearning is a leading learning management system (LMS) designed specifically for the education sector. It was founded in 1999 at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences by a group of teachers and students who wanted to use technology to improve learning outcomes. Since its inception in Bergen, Norway, the platform has grown to serve millions of users across many countries, particularly in Europe and North America.

Over the years, the brand transitioned from a local Scandinavian startup to a global educational technology power. In 2019, itslearning was acquired by Sanoma Group, a Finnish multi-channel media and learning company. This acquisition integrated itslearning into Sanoma Learning, a strategic division focused on developing digital tools for K–12 education. Today, itslearning operates as a central part of Sanoma's digital ecosystem, maintaining its headquarters in Norway while leveraging Sanoma's international reach.
