Momondo travel app

Momondo was founded in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2006 as a travel metasearch engine intended to help users find and compare prices for flights, hotels, and car rentals. It quickly became known for its colorful, user-friendly interface and comprehensive search algorithms. Although it started as a Danish tech startup, the brand gained international acclaim and was eventually acquired by larger global travel conglomerates.

In 2017, Momondo Group was acquired by The Priceline Group, which later rebranded as Booking Holdings. Today, while Momondo maintains a strong identity and presence in European markets, it is centrally managed under the KAYAK brand, which is a subsidiary of Booking Holdings. This ownership structure places the brand under a global leader in travel technology based in the United States, though the product remains a digital service accessible globally.
