Known for its strong cultural association with France, it was traditionally associated with high-strength non-filter cigarettes. The 'Source' variant represents a more modern addition to the lineup, focusing on a more natural tobacco profile.

While the brand is historically French, production has shifted globally following various mergers and acquisitions. Today, the brand is owned by Imperial Brands, a British multinational. For the German market, manufacturing often takes place in major European facilities, such as those in Poland or Germany, rather than France, as the last major French cigarette factory closed in 2017.
