Hytale

Hytale is an upcoming sandbox role-playing game that combines the creative freedom of a world-builder with the depth of a role-playing game. Development began in 2015 by the team behind the Hypixel Minecraft server, which eventually led to the formation of Hypixel Studios.

The brand was originally founded in Northern Ireland using the resources and community expertise developed through years of managing one of the world's largest gaming servers. In 2020, during the mid-development phase, the studio was fully acquired by Riot Games, a move that provided the necessary infrastructure and funding to scale the ambitious project.

While the core development team remains largely based in Derry, Northern Ireland, the game's production is a global effort involving contributors from around the world. As a subsidiary of Riot Games, which is in turn owned by the global tech giant Tencent, Hytale represents a significant intersection of independent creative vision and massive corporate backing.
