O General is a premium air conditioning brand with a history dating back to 1960. It was originally established in Japan as part of Yaou Shoten Ltd., which later became General Ltd. The brand is renowned for its high-performance cooling systems, particularly in the Middle East where it gained a reputation for durability in extreme heat.
In 1984, the company entered into a capital and business alliance with Fujitsu Ltd., leading to the formation of Fujitsu General Limited. Today, O General products are designed and engineered in Japan, but manufacturing is distributed across global facilities. Major production hubs are located in Thailand (Laem Chabang) and China (Shanghai), which serve markets across Europe, Asia, and Oceania. The remote control shown in the image is a standard interface for their split and window air conditioning units, produced at these international manufacturing sites under the strict quality standards of the Japanese parent company.
