The company set out to revolutionize the running experience with its patented cushioning system known as CloudTec, engineered to deliver soft landings followed by explosive takeoffs.

While On products are researched, designed, and engineered at the On Lab in Zürich, Switzerland, the mass manufacturing of their shoes and apparel takes place via partner tier-1 suppliers primarily located in Vietnam, with additional manufacturing footprint in countries such as Indonesia and China.

Today, the brand operates under the publicly traded parent company On Holding AG, listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: ONON). In the United States, its distribution and retail operations are handled through On Inc., its regional subsidiary headquartered in Portland, Oregon.
