Wayang Golek is a traditional rod puppetry art form originating from West Java, Indonesia, particularly among the Sundanese people. Unlike flat shadow puppets (Wayang Kulit), Wayang Golek puppets are three-dimensional figures hand-carved from softwood (typically albasia wood) and dressed in intricately decorated batik and sequined fabrics.

Craftsmanship and Manufacturing

These puppets are traditionally hand-carved, painted, and assembled by specialized local artisans, master craftsmen, and puppeteers (dalang) across villages in West Java (such as Bogor, Bandung, and Cirebon). As this is a traditional folk art and handcrafted cultural artifact rather than a mass-manufactured commercial brand, it does not belong to a corporate entity.
