Suunto MC-2 Global Compass

The Suunto MC-2 Global is a professional mirror compass designed for precise directional measurement and outdoor navigation worldwide. Founded in 1936 by Finnish surveyor and orienteer Tuomas Vohlonen, Suunto revolutionized compass manufacturing by patenting a mass-produced, liquid-filled field compass.

Suunto's mechanical compasses, including the MC-2 Global series, continue to be manufactured and assembled by hand in Finland, ensuring high precision and durable craftsmanship.

Historically part of Amer Sports, Suunto was acquired in 2022 by Liesheng Technology, a Chinese electronics and wearable technology manufacturer known primarily for its smart audio and smart wearable products under brands like Haylou. Despite the change in parent company, Suunto maintains its operational headquarters and production facilities for compasses in Vantaa, Finland.
