Gerber Multi-Tools and Knives

Gerber Gear (officially Gerber Legendary Blades) is an iconic American manufacturer of knives, multi-tools, and cutting gear designed for outdoor enthusiasts, tradespeople, and military personnel.

Founded in 1939 in Portland, Oregon, by Joseph Gerber, the brand originally started as a small batch of handmade culinary cutlery sets before expanding into sporting, hunting, and tactical knives. Over the decades, Gerber established a reputation for durable, field-tested pocket tools and knives.

In 1987, Gerber Legendary Blades was acquired by the Finnish consumer goods corporation Fiskars Group. Today, Gerber operates as a prominent brand within Fiskars' portfolio. While many of Gerber's flagship blades and multi-tools are proudly designed, engineered, and manufactured at their Portland, Oregon facility, certain product lines and accessories are sourced from global manufacturing partners, primarily in China and Taiwan.

Note that Gerber Legendary Blades (Gerber Gear) is completely separate and unrelated to Gerber Products Company, the well-known American baby food and baby products manufacturer owned by Nestlé.
