Brand Origin and History

Acqua Vera was founded in 1979 in San Giorgio in Bosco (Padua, Italy) by the billionaire entrepreneur Dino Pizzuti. It grew to become one of the most widely consumed mineral water brands across Italy, known for its accessible quality and multi-source distribution approach.

Corporate Ownership

In the 1990s, the brand was acquired by the Swiss multinational food and beverage giant Nestlé through its Sanpellegrino division (Nestlé Waters). However, in 2020, Nestlé sold the Acqua Vera brand and its bottling operations to the Italian company S.I.A.M. (Società Imbottigliamento Acque Minerali), led by the Quagliuolo family (owners of Sicon), returning the brand to 100% Italian ownership.

Manufacturing and Sourcing

Acqua Vera is bottled directly in Italy at local source facilities, notably San Giorgio in Bosco (Padua) and Santo Stefano Quisquina (Agrigento), ensuring a sustainable domestic distribution network.
