Blacklight

Blacklight is a science fiction first-person shooter media franchise originally conceived by Zombie Studios, an independent American video game development studio founded in Seattle, Washington. The franchise debuted with Blacklight: Tango Down in 2010, followed by the popular free-to-play multiplayer shooter Blacklight: Retribution.

Following the closure of Zombie Studios in early 2015, former team members formed Hardsuit Labs, which took over full development, management, and operational rights for the franchise. The digital software and game assets were developed and produced primarily in the United States.

While the term "Blacklight" is also widely used across other commercial sectors in the UK—such as UV lighting hardware and cybersecurity testing tools—within mainstream digital gaming it refers to the shooter franchise created by Zombie Studios and subsequently handled by Hardsuit Labs.
