Indian Motorcycle is an iconic American brand founded in 1901 by George M. Hendee and Oscar Hedstrom. Known for being America's first motorcycle company, it has a rich history of racing dominance and engineering innovation. After several decades of ownership changes and periods of insolvency, the brand was successfully revitalized in the 21st century.

Currently, Indian Motorcycle is owned by Polaris Inc., a major American manufacturer of powersports vehicles. Production is primarily centered in North America, with the main manufacturing facility located in Spirit Lake, Iowa. While most core manufacturing remains in the United States, some components and international assembly may occur in other global Polaris facilities to serve international markets.
