Saudi Aramco, officially the Saudi Arabian Oil Group, is a global leader in integrated energy and chemicals. The brand has its roots in a 1933 concession agreement between Saudi Arabia and the Standard Oil Company of California (Socal). Over the decades, the Saudi Arabian government gradually increased its share in the company until it achieved full ownership in 1980.

Today, Aramco is headquartered in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and operates as one of the largest companies in the world by revenue and profitability. While its primary extraction and refining operations are centered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the company maintains a vast international presence through joint ventures, subsidiaries, and equity investments in refineries and chemical plants across Asia, Europe, and North America.

As of the mid-2020s, Saudi Aramco remains primarily owned by the Government of Saudi Arabia, though it is a public joint-stock company following its record-breaking IPO on the Tadawul stock exchange. It continues to expand its global footprint in downstream chemicals and sustainable energy technologies.
