Discovery and Heritage

Ting is a popular carbonated beverage flavored with real Jamaican grapefruit juice. It was first developed and launched in 1976 by Desnoes & Geddes, a brewery most famous for its Red Stripe beer. The drink quickly became a cultural icon in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean, known for its distinctive green bottle and refreshing, slightly tart citrus profile.

Evolution of Ownership

Over the decades, the ownership of the Ting brand has shifted alongside major beverage industry consolidations. While originally a product of Desnoes & Geddes, the brand eventually came under the management of global conglomerate Diageo. However, in a major acquisition in 2015, the Dutch brewing giant Heineken N.V. took majority control of Desnoes & Geddes, effectively bringing Ting into its international portfolio.

Global Manufacturing and Distribution

While its heart remains in Jamaica, Ting is produced in multiple locations to serve international demand. It is bottled locally in Kingston for the Caribbean market, but under licensing agreements, it has also been produced in the United Kingdom and Canada to supply retailers in Europe and North America. Today, it remains a staple mixer and standalone soda, celebrated as a flagship product of Jamaican beverage exports.
