This product is an elegant oval-shaped serving bowl crafted from fine lead crystal. It features a classic hand-cut pattern consisting of a central starburst (or sunburst) motif on the base, surrounded by stylized leaf or olive-branch cuts along the sides. This specific style of deep, sharp geometric cutting is a hallmark of high-quality European crystal manufacturing.
The brand, Waterford Crystal, was originally founded in 1783 in the city of Waterford, Ireland. Over the centuries, it became one of the world's most prestigious names in glassware, known for its clarity and substantial weight. In the late 20th and early 21st centuries, the company underwent significant corporate restructuring. Following the collapse of Waterford Wedgwood in 2009, the brand was acquired by WWRD Holdings Limited. In 2015, WWRD was purchased by the Finnish consumer goods corporation Fiskars Group. Today, while some premium and custom pieces are still produced at the House of Waterford Crystal in Ireland, much of the standard production has transitioned to Fiskars' specialized facilities in Eastern Europe, particularly Slovenia.
