The Mang family has a long-standing history in the region, with the family name appearing in wine-making records as early as 1287. The current estate has been in the family's continuous possession since 1919 and is a member of the Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus, an association of vintners committed to the quality and authenticity of Wachau wines.

The wine is produced exclusively in the Wachau valley, specifically from the 'Ried Kaiserberg' vineyard.
