Danmarks Nationalbank 100 kroner banknote

The image features a 100 Danish kroner banknote from the 2009 series, also known as the 'Bridge Series' (Broseddelserien). This specific denomination showcases 'Den Gamle Lillebæltsbro' (the Old Little Belt Bridge), which connects Jutland and Funen. The design was created by the artist Karin Birgitte Lund and focuses on Danish bridges and prehistoric finds, with the Hindsgavl Dagger appearing on the reverse side.

While the Danish krone is the official currency of the Kingdom of Denmark, the manufacturing of the banknotes has evolved. Historically, Danmarks Nationalbank operated its own printing works in Copenhagen. However, in late 2016, the bank closed its internal printing facilities to reduce costs. Since 2018, the production of Danish banknotes has been outsourced to the French security printing company Oberthur Fiduciaire. Consequently, newer prints of this series are manufactured in France, though they remain under the strict quality control and authority of the Danish central bank.
