Rama 100% natural ingredients margarine

Rama is a historic brand of margarine and vegetable spreads that originated in Germany in 1924. It was launched by Deutsche Jurgenswerke AG, a company founded by Jan Jurgens, who had acquired the original margarine patent in the late 19th century. The brand became famous for its iconic logo featuring 'Jule,' the girl in the hat, and was one of the first products to be advertised nationwide in Germany. For nearly a century, Rama was a cornerstone of Unilever's food portfolio.

In 2018, as part of a strategic shift, Unilever sold its global spreads division to the American private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR). Following this acquisition, the division was rebranded as Upfield. In late 2024, Upfield announced it was rebranding its corporate identity to Flora Food Group. While the brand has its roots in Germany, it is now produced in various locations across Europe (including factories in Germany and Poland) and internationally to serve its global market. As of 2026, the brand remains under the ownership of Flora Food Group (formerly Upfield), which is headquartered in Amsterdam and owned by KKR.
