Parodontax is a specialized oral care brand with a rich history dating back to 1937, when it was formulated by German dentist Dr. Focke. Originally based on sodium bicarbonate to target gum health, the brand was further developed by the German pharmaceutical company Madaus before being acquired by Block Drug in 1995. In 2001, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) took ownership of the brand.
In July 2022, as part of a significant corporate restructuring, GSK spun off its consumer healthcare division to form Haleon, which now serves as the ultimate owner of Parodontax. Today, the brand is a global leader in gum health products. While it originated in Germany, manufacturing currently takes place in multiple locations across Europe to serve international markets, with primary production facilities located in Levice, Slovakia, and sites in the United Kingdom.
