Suunto is a world-renowned manufacturer of sports watches, dive computers, compasses, and precision instruments. Founded in 1936 by Tuomas Vohlonen, a Finnish adventurer and inventor, the brand revolutionized the industry by mass-producing the liquid-filled field compass. For decades, Suunto has been synonymous with high-end Finnish craftsmanship, maintaining a significant portion of its production at its headquarters in Vantaa, Finland.

Over the years, the ownership of Suunto has shifted significantly. While it was long a part of the Amer Sports portfolio (alongside brands like Salomon and Wilson), the brand was acquired by Chinese technology company Liesheng in 2022. This acquisition marked a new era for the brand, blending traditional Finnish engineering with modern digital wearable technology resources. Despite the change in ownership, Suunto remains deeply rooted in its Finnish heritage, continuing to design and handcraft many of its flagship products in the Nordics.
