Amuchina Gel X-Germ hand disinfectant

Amuchina is an iconic Italian brand with a history dating back to 1923 when it was invented by engineer Oronzio De Nora. Originally patented for wound disinfection, the brand became a household name in Italy, particularly during public health crises such as the cholera epidemic in the 1980s and more recently during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The product is primarily manufactured in Italy, with major production sites located in Ancona and a dedicated plant for Amuchina in Casella, near Genoa.

Historically part of the Angelini Pharma portfolio since 2000, the brand underwent a significant ownership shift starting January 1, 2026. It was transferred to Fater S.p.A., which is a 50/50 joint venture between Angelini Industries and the American multinational Procter & Gamble (P&G). Despite this transfer to the joint venture for specialized consumer management, the brand remains within the broader industrial perimeter of Angelini Industries, an Italian family-owned group founded in 1919.
