Propriétaire :LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (France)
OrigineItalie
Fabriqué :France

Acqua di Giò is one of the world's most iconic masculine fragrances, originally launched in 1996 by the Italian luxury fashion house Giorgio Armani. The scent was inspired by the Mediterranean island of Pantelleria, where Giorgio Armani spent his vacations, and was designed to capture the essence of the sea, sun, and earth. It was composed by master perfumers Alberto Morillas, Annick Menardo, and Christian Dussoulier.

While the brand itself is rooted in Italian luxury and design, the production of the fragrance line is primarily centered in France, a global hub for high-end perfumery. The manufacturing process adheres to the strict quality standards of the luxury beauty industry, utilizing high-quality synthetic molecules and natural extracts to maintain its signature aquatic profile.

Ownership of the Acqua di Giò brand is managed through a long-term licensing agreement. Since 1988, the French beauty conglomerate L'Oréal has held the exclusive license to develop and market Giorgio Armani's beauty products, including fragrances, skincare, and makeup. This partnership was officially extended in 2018 to continue until 2050. Following the death of Giorgio Armani in late 2025, his estate has begun a transition process, with L'Oréal emerging as a primary partner to ensure the brand's continuity and potential future acquisition of its beauty assets.
