ACO (Apotekens Composita) is a Swedish skincare brand with a history dating back to 1939. Originally founded by Apotekarsocieteten (the Pharmaceutical Society of Sweden) to provide high-quality pharmaceutical-grade skincare through pharmacies, it has since become a leading Nordic brand. The name itself reflects its heritage, meaning 'the pharmacy's mixture' in Latin.

Ownership of the brand has transitioned through several major entities. For many years, it was part of the Belgian company Omega Pharma, which was subsequently acquired by the American consumer self-care giant Perrigo in 2015. In a significant move to streamline its portfolio, Perrigo reached an agreement in 2025 to sell its dermacosmetics division—including the ACO brand—to Karo Healthcare. Karo Healthcare is a Swedish company headquartered in Stockholm and is owned by the global investment firm KKR. This transaction, expected to conclude in early 2026, solidifies ACO's return to Swedish-based strategic management under Karo Healthcare's extensive portfolio of European healthcare brands.
