Red Bull The Green Edition energy drink

Red Bull is one of the most recognized beverage brands in the world, famous for its functional energy drinks. The Green Edition specifically features the flavor of Dragon Fruit (or Cactus Fruit/Kaktusfrucht as seen on German-market labeling). The brand's history began in 1987 when Austrian entrepreneur Dietrich Mateschitz launched the product based on a Thai energy drink called Krating Daeng.

While the brand is global, the manufacturing process is highly centralized to maintain quality control. Most of the global supply is produced in state-of-the-art facilities located in Austria and Switzerland. From these hubs, the product is exported to over 170 countries worldwide.

Ownership of the brand remains private. Currently, it is owned by Red Bull GmbH. The ownership structure is split between the Yoovidhya family in Thailand (who hold a majority 51% stake) and the Mateschitz family in Austria (who hold 49%). Despite the majority Thai ownership stake, the company has its operational headquarters in Fuschl am See, Austria.
