Brand Origin

Birrificio Angelo Poretti was founded in 1877 by Angelo Poretti in Valganna, in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. Inspired by his travels throughout Austria, Bohemia, and Bavaria, Poretti aimed to craft authentic, quality European-style beers using pristine mountain spring water and specialized hop varieties.

Ownership

In 1982, Danish brewing giant Carlsberg acquired an initial stake in the company, eventually gaining full ownership in 2002. Today, Birrificio Angelo Poretti is a premium brand fully integrated into the global portfolio of Carlsberg Group (Carlsberg A/S), headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. In the United Kingdom, its distribution and local presence are managed through Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company (CMBC).

Manufacturing

While Birrificio Angelo Poretti retains its historic brewery in Induno Olona (Valganna, Italy), where much of its production continues, Carlsberg also brews and packages selected draught and packaged formats within regional breweries across Europe, including facilities in the United Kingdom to supply the domestic market efficiently.
