Leffe Blonde Belgian Abbey Beer

Propietario:Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV (Bélgica)
OrigenBélgica
Fabricado:Bélgica

Leffe Blonde is an authentic Belgian abbey beer renowned worldwide for its golden colour, subtle hints of vanilla and cloves, and well-balanced malty sweetness. The heritage of Leffe traces back to 1152 with the founding of the Abbaye Notre-Dame de Leffe in Dinant, Belgium, where Norbertine canons began brewing beer in 1240 to provide a safe, wholesome beverage for pilgrims and visitors.

While the abbey was destroyed and brewing ceased during the French Revolution, the tradition was revived in 1952 through a historic partnership between the Abbot of Leffe and commercial brewer Albert Lootvoet. This agreement established one of the world's first commercial abbey beer licences, ensuring royalties continue to support the Norbertine community.

Today, Leffe is brewed under licence by Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), the world's largest multinational brewing company headquartered in Leuven, Belgium. The beer distributed across the United Kingdom is brewed primarily at the historic Stella Artois brewery in Leuven, Belgium, maintaining traditional Belgian brewing recipes and heritage standards.
