Diclo-ratiopharm Schmerzgel is a widely used over-the-counter pain relief gel containing diclofenac sodium, formulated to treat joint and muscular pain, inflammation, and sports injuries.

The brand ratiopharm was established in Ulm, Germany, in 1973 by Adolf Merckle. As the pioneer of generic pharmaceuticals in Germany, ratiopharm became synonymous with affordable generic medication. In 2010, following an international bidding process, ratiopharm was acquired by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., a global multinational pharmaceutical giant headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Today, ratiopharm operates as an integral brand under Teva's generic portfolio in Germany, with major manufacturing and distribution facilities maintained in Ulm and Blaubeuren-Weiler.
